Goalkeepers
Aaron Ramsdale (ARS) – 6.5
Last season, the Arsenal goalkeeper had an impressive performance and won a few Premier League saves of the season awards. Despite finishing fifth within 143 points, we’ve chosen this goalkeeper, who is priced at 5.0, due to Arsenal’s strengthened defense with the signing of Timber and the return of French international William Saliba.
Ben Forster (TOT) – 4.5
Towards the end of last season, Hugo Lloris fell out of favor, and Ben Foster stepped up to take his place. Despite only starting in 13 games, Foster managed to accumulate 40 points by the end of the season. Considering his budget-friendly price tag, we believe that having him as a sub goalkeeper is a wise choice.

Defenders
Our strategy for selecting defenders was to go for an all-wide defense. Since this isn’t an actual match where we have to worry about fullbacks being weak on defense, our focus was on maximizing points by selecting defenders who create a lot of assists and chances. We took into account both their budget and the number of points they collected last season when making our selections.
Kieran Trippier (NEW) – 6.5
Last season, the Newcastle skipper was the top-scoring defender with 198 points. He played a crucial role in helping Newcastle secure a spot in the upcoming Champions League season, and we believe he will perform even better this year. Trippier has a reasonable price tag of €6.5 for a defender who can assist, score, and maintain clean sheets. We strongly suggest that managers consider including this English international in their GW1 draft.
Luke Shaw (MUN) – 5.5
Our team has chosen to have a defense consisting solely of fullbacks. This decision was made based on the quality and consistency that fullbacks have shown over the years. Before Euro 2020, Luke Shaw was considered by many to be the best fullback in the league. The Manchester United left-back has a price tag of 5.5, which may increase depending on his performance. We believe he will have an outstanding season and highly recommend including him in your team.
James Tarkowski (EVE) – 4.5
In order to balance the team and stay within budget, we have included a defender who is priced at less than 5 but has consistently performed well in recent times. Last season, the Englishman finished 20th with a total of 106 points. He played all 38 games, scoring one goal, providing one assist, and keeping nine clean sheets. We strongly recommend that managers consider selecting James Tarkowski in their GW1 draft.
Sven Botman (NEW) – 4.5
Sven Botman was impressive last season, and he is a player that you would want to have in your draft team. In fact, we are highly considering changing our formation to include him in our starting 11. Last season, he started in 35 games, keeping clean sheets in 13 of those and providing assists in two matches. With a total of 129 points last season, we highly recommend including him in your squad.
Marc Guéhi (CRY) – 4.5
Marc Guehi is a clutch defender who kept 9 clean sheets in his 37 appearances last season and even scored in one of those games. He finished the season with a total of 95 points, and we highly recommend that all managers include him in their GW1 FPL draft team as a sub player.
Midfielders
Our team has employed a system of 5 attacking midfielders who performed magnificently last season. These players were consistent throughout the season, and their impressive statistics in terms of goals scored, assists, and chances created speak for themselves.
Martin Ordegard (ARS) – 8.5
Last season, the Arsenal skipper was the top-scoring midfielder in the league. Martin Odegaard played in 34 matches during the 2022/23 English Premier League season, taking 55 shots with 31 on target and scoring a total of 15 goals (9.03 xG). He also had an average of 46 passes per match with an 84% completion rate and provided 7 assists. With an average price of 8.5, we believe that he would be a valuable asset to any team.
Gabriel Martinelli (ARS) – 8.0
Gabriel Martinelli has been a brilliant player since his debut in the Arsenal first team. Last season, he scored double-digit goals and consistently performed well, which earned him a spot in the World Cup. Even in the limited minutes he played, he impressed. Martinelli scored 15 goals, provided 9 assists, and kept 14 clean sheets. He had a 5.5 points per match rating in 34 appearances. Expectations are high for the Brazil international to continue delivering this season.
Phil Foden (MCI) – 7.5
Phil Foden had an excellent season last year, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists in 22 starts. He had an average of 4.4 points per match and a total of 142 points. Although Foden is often considered a squad player, with the departures of Mahrez and Gundogan, the English international may receive more playing time, which could translate to more points. We highly recommend including Phil Foden in your team.
Mason Mount (MUN) – 7.0
The newly recruited Manchester United player had a somewhat shaky season last year, playing under three different managers and being in and out of the starting 11. The Englishman was once viewed as a future Chelsea captain, but towards the end of his tenure, that changed. With a new club comes a new jersey number and more expectations, but we believe that the England international is up to the task. Despite a challenging season, he still managed to score 3 goals and provide 4 assists. With a price tag of 7, we have high hopes that he will improve his points per game this season and showcase his talent and quality.
Eberechi Eze (CRY) – 6.5
If this were a transfer season with real money involved, we would confidently say that this player is a big bargain. With an xG of 7.25, 10 goals scored, and 5 assists in just 30 starts, we believe that a price tag of 6.5 is undervaluing a midfielder who averaged 4.2 points per game. He ended last season with a total of 159 points, and we highly recommend that managers include this sensational England player in their teams.

Strikers
We understand that having a good front line requires a significant investment, but we believe that we have balanced our front three by including two quality starters and a reliable squad player.
Earling Haaland (MCI) – 14.0
Erling Haaland scored the most goals in a single season of any player to have played in the Premier League, netting a record-breaking 33 goals in 36 games. With an average of 7.8 points per game and a total of 272 points in the season, we highly recommend that managers include him in their GW1 FPL draft. Manchester City is set to play away to Burnley in their season opener, and we can see Haaland scoring one or two goals.
Alexander Isak (NEW) – 7.5
The summer signing has impressed many with his consistent performances, despite suffering an injury that kept him off the pitch for several months. On his good day, the Swedish international can score or assist. With a total of 100 points and an average of 4.5 points per game, we have high expectations for Isak to impress this season. Therefore, we strongly recommend that all managers include him in their draft team.
Julian Alvarez (MCI) – 6.5
The World Cup winner has not had enough minutes on the pitch, but every time he has played, he has proven his quality. Based on his impressive stats and potential, we have selected him as a rotational player. Alvarez had an average of 3.3 points per goal and a total of 109 points. If given more playing time, he has the potential to score more points this season.
Worthy Mentions
We also recommend keeping an eye on players like Kevin De Bruyne – MCI (10.5), Christopher Nkuku – CHE, Mohammed Salah – LIV (12.5), and Bruno Fernandez – MUN (8.5), who have all shown promise and could be valuable additions to any squad. And let’s not forget about the importance of having a strong goalkeeper, with Bukayo Saka – ARD (8.5) being a budget-friendly option worth considering.
Conclusion
Based on the information we have provided, we believe that the fpl draft 23 24 season is shaping up to be an exciting one. With a range of talented players across different positions, managers will have plenty of options to choose from as they build their dream teams. We highly recommend including players such as Phil Foden, the newly recruited Manchester United player, and Erling Haaland, who all have the potential to score big points and lead their teams to victory.
Finally, we would like to remind managers that the stakes are high this season, with the winning manager set to receive an iPhone 12 Pro, the first runner-up receiving a Samsung S20, and the second runner-up receiving Samsung earbuds. So choose your players wisely and may the best team win!
