Spain vs Cyprus – Home(0:2)

Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente, feels better about the team’s performance in UEFA Euro 2024 (UEC) qualifying. They lost to Scotland but showed commitment and improvement in their recent 7-1 win against Georgia. Spain has won three games in a row, and they were also crowned champions of the UEFA Nations League in June.

When Spain plays UEC qualifiers at home, they usually win. They haven’t lost in 23 home games since 2003, scoring 70 goals and only letting in 8.

Cyprus, their next opponent, hasn’t been doing well. They lost their last seven UEC qualifiers and often finish at the bottom or near the bottom in past campaigns.

One player to watch is Lamine Yamal, who is only 16 and became Spain’s youngest player and scorer in their last game. Cyprus will have a hard time stopping Spain because they usually give up at least two goals in their recent matches.

An interesting fact is that Spain usually scores first in their home games, except when they play in tournaments.

Belgium vs Estonia – Home(0:2)

Belgium is on track for UEFA European Championship 2024 qualification, holding the top spot in Group F after a 1-0 victory over Azerbaijan. Their manager, Domenico Tedesco, has made a positive impact since taking charge, with Belgium undefeated (W4, D1) under his leadership. They have scored 11 goals and conceded only three in his tenure.

Belgium aims for their sixth consecutive major tournament appearance and has a strong qualification history, losing only one of their last 52 qualification matches for major tournaments (W43, D8). In contrast, Estonia, their upcoming opponent, has faced defeat in five previous encounters with Belgium, losing by an aggregate score of 21-3.

Estonia’s recent qualification record for major tournaments is less impressive, with only nine wins in their last 50 matches (D7, L34). They are coming off a 5-0 loss to Sweden, and manager Thomas Häberli acknowledges the challenge they face against Belgium.

Key players to watch include Yannick Carrasco for Belgium, who often scores early goals, and Estonia’s Martin Miller, known for his recent away goals for both club and country.

A notable statistic is that under Domenico Tedesco’s management, Belgium has not had a scoreless first half in their matches.
